I've been reading about the medicinal effects of the Aloe Vera plant and fancy getting one. But it says that you need to break off one of the fleshy leaves to use the sap. How does this affect the plant? Does it re-grow or just look very sad and mangled with half chopped leaves? I want to 'use' the plant, but still have it look decorative. Is this possible?
