I'm asking as I've written a song and would like to share it.

What are you trying to post? Lyrics, sound files or sheet music?

As RM says start a lyrics thread under Arts. However be careful if you post them here the lyrics will be in the public domain so you won't be able to copyright them later should you chose to do so.
