New Forum ~ Market Expansion

I think you are missing out on the biggest market available on the internet. The 25 and younger age group.

I think it would be worth your time to consider a trial in making a forum for teens and around that age group to post.

I could start up some threads and gradually you might see a greater traffic flow on the site.

Anyway, it is up to you. I am merely providing ideas.

Good point. My thought has always been that teens wouldn't be that interested in a forum as they have myspace, facebook, faceparty, etc etc so there would be nothing here to appeal to them but then I suppose I shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush.

What are other people's thoughts? I'm happy to trial it and see what happens? I did, some time ago, toy with the idea of having a student section but never did anything about it!!

A lot of people are sick to death with myspace and facebook - I am.
In fact, I got rid of both.

I might want to point out that teens are going through puperty. I think you get my flow.
In any case, maybe start small. I could make some threads and get the word to spread. My brother goes to secondary school. So he might help.

I think it could become a success, if it goes about in the right direction.

Well I'm not in my teens so I'd have to rely on you for direction! I'll set up a new area in the morning - do you think the one forum area and one section or more?

I think in that area, you could have several areas?

I also think you might want to increase the avatar size. Young people like to have moving avatars and stuff. I am going to ask some of my friends now what they think is good.

But I think they are the masters of the web. 90% of the web, I would say, is run by them.

I'm not going to change the avatar size as that reflects across the whole board and one of the things people like here is that there aren't any massive glaring avatars and no pics in sigs, etc.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

When I say bigger, I mean file size. So they can use gif files, like videos. Not physically!

I like it when people give feedback, it is always good to get a fresh point of view. I certainly think it is worth a try, but I don't really know what teenagers are interested in, (aside from the fact that I am basically the same as when I WAS one, but that was then, this is now, tastes change )

I mean, I like video games, movies, music etc etc... but I don't exactly know what appeals to teens. I believe that me and my friends just never grew up. Just these days the toys are more expensive!

I'd love the file size to be bigger for avatars, i got someone to make me an avatar and it wont work here because the size limit is only 16.6 and my avatar is 29.6.
