You're wrong I'm afraid!. To me Rep points are merely forum toys and I couldn't care less about them so long as they are not used to interfere with the debate. Of course you probably won't believe me but who cares! All I would say is that before I sent the warning I reported the post in the Mod thread that I would be PM'ing you about it.

Naming Blondie then defining a Troll in the same paragraph, posted a while back? I think if you check the dates you will find you posted it yesterday the same day as I sent you the PM.

Perhaps though you are correct. This has more to do with your annoyance at me attacking the argument you made in the Rep thread as nonsense (since you mention it above and I see you've changed you sig to reflect this). Well I'm afraid that's just the cut and thrust of debate. Maybe a cynic would think that this whole thread was started so that you can vent your spleen in public. As you say poor show!

Why does everyone throw their toys out when I'm not around? I'm going to look through everything and post my response shortly.

Right I have to be honest - I can't be bothered to write out the long reply again so I'm not going too.

Warnings were given in threads by myself and Sooty. These weren't aimed at anyone in particular but were just a general "keep it clean" post. Sooty's attention was then brought to a post made by Selkie where Blondie was named followed by a description of a troll asking why Sooty got involved. Sooty replied to that post via PM. In retrospect it may have been better for the reply to have been in the thread.

The post referred to wasn't posted yesterday. Nor has the post date been changed in anyway.

The REP thread I don't think has anything to do with it - I've read it and it all appears to be banter from all sides.

A mod's job isn't an easy one. As mentioned we do try and get involved in the discussions here rather than just being an "admin" presence. We also try to remain impartial. The mix of these two things is a very difficult balance.

No one has been threatening anyone. The "you wont win" bit has been dealt with by Sooty already.

If I've missed anything I apologise but I heartily recommend we all move on from it.

And just to clarify you can argue with mods and admins. If you do you aren't "off". If that was the case there would be no one here!

Thread re-opened and moved to feedback.

The argument was a simple one, and it has nothing to do with the way this forum is run (after all I could have deleted your thread and nobody would have known but that's not how things are done here),

Disco

Most mods and admin do try to remain impartial on forums. They normally do allow some flexibility in discussions but once the limit is reached, they have to act. There is usually some formal warnings given for acts against the forum rules. If the warnings are not heeded, then a ban from the forum is the final step. In most situations, a formal warning is all that is required.

It can be a thankless task being an admin or a moderator. It's also an unpaid position on the majority of forums

Thanks for that I sometimes wonder why anybody accepts the position.

I have to say on reading the above, that when the moderator says that 'he could have deleted the posts without anyone knowing, but its not the way things are done here' I have to disagree.

I am new to this forum, I joined thinking that I would be able to voice my opinion and give information to others.

I have posted 3 times about the use of 0844 numbers in the NHS, each time my post has been deleted without telling me ( I kept trying in case Id done it wrong), it was a non offensive and non political subject, just trying to help the general public of which I am a member and so are you.

I can understand, if posts are offensive, or politically based that you would not want to get involved, but mine was neither.

It does seem that you can only post here on subjects that the moderators are interested in or just idle chat, unfortunately I am not the sort that can chat about nothing. I want to talk about things that are dear to my heart, but it seems this is not allowed even though one moderator started a tread about the BBC showing an appeal for Gaza, and asking opinions, which to me is much more political than mine.

This post will probably be deleted also, and I may not be able to post again.

I am sorry that it has come to this, I would have liked to continue as this seems like a nice community but there is no point if I cannot talk about important issues to me and there dosnt seem to be any flexibility on this.

Nothing personal, and you are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine, but I do feel that I have wasted my time here.

Casey
