Default Sunny Spring Sunday

Good morning all.

Off to the dig in a bit so I'm the early bird today.

Sunny and clear here at the moment, a lovely spring day.

I hope you all have a good Sunday.

Oh why am I awake so early?

Grey and dull here...maybe the sun will come out later, the forecast is for sunny intervals so we can but hope they've got it right.

I have read the news (nothing inspiring there) and had a cup of tea. Now I'm going back to bed for a while to ponder the meaning of life and the origins of the universe. On the other hand I may just go back to sleep for an hour or two.

Happy Sunday folks and good luck with the digging Discovery.

Morning all.

Have relations round for lunch today so I've got a butterflied leg of lamb to go on the BBQ.

Can't get motivated to do anything ATM.

Sounds good Jezer - going with a traditional oven roasted chicken here although the sun has come out now!

I'll report on the lamb later! It is marinating in garlic, olive oil and rosemary ATM.

Re nowt in particular there's been a couple of funny incidents in the field over the last couple of days. Just now there was a stand off between our cat and a male pheasant and before that a cow was chasing a duck which turned on it and sent the herd scampering! I couldn't believe it!

Strange today must be a day for cats. just watched a cat come of second best against a flock of crows. I think the cat was after a fledgling when about a dozen or so adult birds started dive bombing the cat, quite Hitchcockesque. Judging by the screaming the cat was making it was it was getting hurt and all the small bird started their alarm calls. Oh well let nature take its course and all that.

Other than that its quite sunny, however Mrs Sooty has put washing out so that will soon change.

Roast Beef and Yorkies for lunch yum!

Hi Sooty.

As an aside, I think it is a Parliament of Crows- little comfort to the cat!

I always thought it was a murder of crows...which is even worse news for the cat.

a quick google (they can't arrest you for it lol) suggests it's a parliament of owls.
