Default Broken bones and other injuries.

Anyone here broken any bones? If not, have you had any other significant injuries?

As a child I dislocated both shoulders more than once, and had to go to casualty to have them put back. Since then I have been fairly lucky, I've had nothing more than the odd scrape or bruise, about two years ago I burnt my chest with hot tea which left a small scar, but It could have been a lot worse, and I have yet to break a bone (touch wood).

So who on GC is the most accident prone?

Touch wood I've never had any broken bones. Had dodgy knees when I was growing up and my brother nearly KO'd me in a car accident but that's it.

Accident 1

I've never broken any bones, a few years back at work i was carrying a cup of hot water and was wearing white catering gloves and spilled the lot over both hands ended up with serious burns to both hands which had me off work for a month, not to mention with both hands out of action i needed help to go to the bathroom etc not very dignified at all.

Accident 2

Was having a fight with an ex, he locked himself in the bathroom, i was mad and hit the window of the bathroom with both hands only for the glass to smash and my two elbows going into the broken shards, result 5 stitches in each elbow and i dumped him to lol.

Accident 3

Went to pick up my daughter at nursery, it had been raining and the floor was wet, slipped on the floor and fell backwards onto my back, i was 6 moths pregnant with ben at the time, so trip to hospital to make sure baby was ok and to sort my arm out which was badly sprained, it took 8 weeks for the pain in my arm to go away, result nursery puts mats down and a place outside the nursery to put wet umbrellas, maybe they should have thought of that in the first place :rolleyes2

Accident 4

Went on a girlie night out and got very drunk, next morning i woke covered in bruises head to toe, o/h informed me that i had fallen down the stairs in my pissed up state, i coulden't even remember, restult i don't drink vodka anymore and stick to red wine.

i could go on and on lol

1. Aged 11 Dislocated shoulder taking a catch in a school cricket match PE teacher yanked it back in on the spot (you could do that in the 70's). Yeeeow!

2. Aged 17 Cracked left knee in a motorbike accident

3. Aged 18 Car crash. Broke left Collar bone in 2 places and a cracked shoulder blade

4. Aged 21 Martial Arts injury. Broke right ring finger. mistimed a block while sparring

5. About 8 years ago: Rolled a car while testing collision avoidance system broken right collar bone.

These are the main one I can remember. I've also broken a couple of toes but doesn't everybody? They just go black and fix themselves

I broke my right wrist when I was 16. I was on the back of a mate's motorbike and he had tightened his steering damper too tight. We went down a road and came to a bend but the bike decided it wanted to go straight on. I went up a grass bank next to a tree and took an early lesson in flight! The wrist was shaped like a crank handle after gravity had had its way!

No broken bones, but I put my back out by sneezing! The pain was so excrutiating and felt as if it travelled through my body and out my right toe, I should think similar to an electric shock. The result was that I was taken to hospital with sirens blaring and spent the next month flat on my back in hospital with a further month in traction at home. I must admit that I am now quite wimpish regarding lifting or exerting.
