Default Well what do you think?

As an avid football hater...I congratulate this woman. Presumably he's so obsessed with football there was no room for compromise. What do you all think?

Blimey I think he'd be more concerned that he'd been publicly 'outed' as a Villa fan in West Bromwich than been dumped by his wife. That's Wolves and Baggies land they eat Villa fans!

Anyway he'll soon get over it the season starts this weekend.

Loved this comment:

She asked the question and I suspect she already knew the answer. Poor girl, never stood a chance. The world is full of women, but there is only one Aston Villa.

I think that her use of the English language is poor.

She should have said 'Is Villa' rather than 'Are Villa', or am I wrong?

I think it is very sad that a marriage which should be based on mutual respect and love can end this way.

I can never understand the fanatisism which affects football fans. We have two football teams in Sheffield, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, the mutual hate which one lot of balmpots have for the others is unreal. You get some Wednesday supporters who won't eat bacon because it has red and white stripes. One fan used to have a statue of a footballer, with a blue and white striped shirt, in his front window. This was illuminated every Saturday evening and, if Wednesday had lost, it had a black sash across the shirt. If they had won it used to have a sign in front of it which said "Well Done Owls". Local Derby games are a nightmare with certain pubs having Wednesday supporters only and other for United fans. One lot can't go into the other pub without taking their life in their hands. Letting ones support for a football team take precedence over ones marriage is about as bad as it can get. As I said before it is all very sad and stupid to boot. I only hope no children are involved.

I think you've answered your own question there Esca

To be honest, so what? Marriage and divorce are 'easy come, easy go these days' in 2005 a woman in the UK married a dolphin in some kind of civil ceremony. So why all the ballyhoo when one breaks down.

We have had successive Governments undermining the importance of marriage and making it easier and easier to divorce that I understand why people getting married now see it as a big party rather than a exchange of commitment.

OK she got her story in the press, so did Batman on the M25. Everybody's had a laugh, probably not at the point she was trying to make. But hey, divorce in the UK? Not exactly a rare occurrence is it?
