Default Warmer winters..

The seasons are nearly all the same, Apart from the nights being longer and a bit colder the seasons are not as they were when I was younger. It is put down to global warming or other things in the same vein. but I am sure I read somewhere that this is a natural thing, same as it getting warmer.

I heard the weather goes through cycles and this is what we are experiencing, I would prefer to think this was the case then us as a the human race is destroying our beautiful planet...............

I think it's a natural cycle too although we don't help matters by cutting down vast areas of rain forest.

I'm on the side of it being a natural cyclical thing however I do think that the loss of rain forest and the excess carbon we push into the atmosphere severely hampers nature's ability to maintain a balance.

Winters have been gettng noticably warmer since about 1987. This was the year when I noticed that lobellia in my garden was self seeding instead of being killed off by frost. The snowy weather which we used to almost guarantee in February no longer comes. Now we just get rain. I don't buy all the stuff about global warming and the effects of Carbon Dioxide. It is being used as another stick to tax us with. I will go along with Climate Change which is another matter entirely. I think I have made this argument before so I don't want to repeat myself un-neccesarily. I think we are going through a climate change cycle just like what has happened before many times.

Glad to hear some share the belief it's a natural cycle made worse by human activities. We should do our bit to help (and a lot more than we are doing now), but not panic while Mother Nature does her own thing.

We're only tenants on Earth afterall, we can't afford to buy it

I keep thinking this thread says "winter warmers" and that it is going to be about scarves, thermals and wooly jumpers
