Good luck with the diploma Blondie.

Please remember that the initial posts, which must have taken the posters a long time to research, were done in good faith in the tradition of GC.

Just a small piece of advice, given in the best of intentions, check your punctuation and spellings in anything you hand in.

My daughter helps me out at times!

Remember Blondie- chatters are here to help and so often do, think of some of your previous posts about moving and so on.

I have said sorry, but I feel there is not much else I can say.
For my part I thank you for your apology re the way you have reacted to my offers of help. You say that your parents are 64 and 67 and that you are 23. In that context you are old enough to be my Great Granddaughter - I am 76. Not that it matters in the context of this message board. All contributors have to be accepted for what they are and not on account of their age.

Perhaps now you have been hurt by my comments you will appreciate how I, and possibly Sweet Pea, although I can't speak on her behalf, felt when you reacted the way you did. The written word cannot show visual emotions so the reaction one gets from a face to face encounter doesn't happen. One has to be careful just what, and how, one expresses oneself in the written word. It can be a minefield and a careless comment can easily offend even when it is intended as a jocular remark.

I wish you well with your Diploma and hope that you can carve out a career in Dog Management/Training. It could be a very rewarding line of work. I apologise for the Packet Top remark. It was uncalled for but it just shows what I have said - the written word needs careful use.

Thanks for the apology and your fuller explanation of where you are coming from. In essence I agree with you, now that I understand what you REALLY mean (Esca is right...the written word needs special care) but I still think that every dog is different and should be treated as such. I allow my 11 year old onto the sofa every night BY INVITATION because she is a retired working Border Collie and has earned the right to be there. She is till the kindest, most gentle soul I can think of. My younger BC is a whacky, impulsive dominant (funny) one and there is not a cat's chance she wil be invited up since she would take advantage/expect it. That privilege is my older dog's.
I tell you that because it is an example of what I mean when I say that each situation is different and it isn't wise to generalise.
I hope we can move on...we all have our experiences over time...I have to say that mine with dogs is about as long as you have years...and that I have learned most of what I know by listening to others with even longer exprience. It is so rewarding to learn from others...and it's free!
Good luck with your diploma...
