Wipe up what you can with absorbent towels or cloths, then it wants rigorous washing with cold water Evie. Cold water dissolves detergents better than hot - look at your nearest river and check the foam. It is a hell of a job to get it skid free but it is the only way forward. Plonk your son on his backside and use his nappy as a soak-up cloth.

Madevie do you have a cat?

Put cat litter over the washing up liquid to soak it up.Then wash the floor with hot water and white vinegar.

I'm too late to help, but was going to say put the cat on its back and get two jobs done at once.

That said I thought Esca's idea of your son on his backside and use his nappy as a soak-up cloth was better!
