Default Presents

What's the most expensive present you have bought for anybody?
was this for a special occaision
or are you a believer in "it's the thought that counts" and try to buy presents that will be appreciated regardless of cost?

As an engagement ring is probably not considered a present, I would think that it was a nice watch for my wife.

I don't necessily count the cost but I can't think of anything else I bought for anyone that cost as much.

As you say, cost is not the important factor, but if anyone wants to buy me an Aero 8 Morgan I wont say no.

I buy myself great presents whenever I can afford to.... I'm worth it

I can't think what the most expensive thing I ever bought for someone else was...but I got myself my laptop, printer and playstation 3. I may as well give my gifts to someone who really appreciates them!

Off the top of my head I got an ex-boyfriend some very expensive wine once. I think he appreciated it, but I not being a wine buff thought it was much like any other wine. We aren't still together

I found out this evening that my daughter, who is in France on a school exchange, has spent half her pocket money on a pressie for me.

I don't know what it is, and it doesn't really matter.

I'm so touched.

As has been said, it is the thought that matters.

Ah well yes erm I've just signed a cheque to hire a the Marquess of Hertford's place for a meal and party for my wife's birthday. I'm expecting a call from my Bank Manager on Monday about it.......

My wife's Welsh gold wedding ring cost a small fortune

Other than that I suppose I bought a number of Opals back from Australia when I worked there in the 80's then gave them away as presents
