Default What's in your lunchbox?

No smut please!

Time was when people went off to work with a couple of cheese sandwiches and a flask of tea. Britains survived for decades on it. Now it seems this is about as unhealthy as you can get and the food Stasi now produce multi page flyers on what the ideal lunch box should contain and we are probably not very far from legislation on the subject.

So I wondered what do you put in your lunchbox. Or if you don't do lunch what would you put in it?

When I'm working I ususlly have something like a chicken wrap with salad, fruit and a choccie biscuit.

When I'm not it's just choccie biscuits.

When I was working I often used to cook extra for dinner then take leftovers to be reheated for lunch in the microwave in the rest room; cottage pie was good for that. A favourite was to do a sort of rice thing with frozen mixed veg and tuna that could be eaten cold as rice salad the next day with the addition of a few cherry tomatoes.

Fortunately, I've never worked anywhere at which I was expected to supply my own lunch.

However, IF I did, I cannot imagine being able to be bothered "packing a lunchbox", LET ALONE pre-preparing my own sandwiches etc...!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think, under such unsatisfactory circumstances, I just wouldn't bother with lunch at all.

AND, I think that all those of you who are required to do so, ought to have a stern conversation with your respective employers, and demand that they commence treating you like adults, and not like primary-school children.

not working presently, but when I can afford it I go to subway or costa coffee...... it tastes so much better when you don't make it yourself!

If I absolutely have to make my own food, I like cheese or tuna salad sandwiches, or a slice of quiche or cold pizza. Yum!

Absolutely not about being treated like primary school children. It's definitely about freedom of choice - and I will often pack my own lunch and sometimes eat in the office restaurants (3 restaurants at work - so LOTS of choice there).

I just find I make things the way I want them for when I want them.
Anyway -

Last packed lunch I had was flaked salmon with salad and mixed beans, new potatoes - dressed with mayo. yummy.

I happen to work at a place that is so nice that I'm happy to go there with my own lunchbox.

I've worked for organisations where I got the fancy meals, hotels and so on and am happier now.

Also, I don't need capital letters to express my opinion.

i am dreadfully sorry, and unreservedly apologetic if I have incurred any offence with my use of capital letters.

my point, i thought, was perfectly innocent.

it stands as the stance to which i subscribe. no one else is obliged to subscribe thereto.

i shall not embelish upon it.

it appears i have completely misjudged the rhythm and meter of the question.

i hope my contrition is suitably conveyed.

TeeHee!

Sounds like John Cleese's apology to Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda.

Look forward to your well measured posts Archangel.

Also I like tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches.
