This thread is great!

Well a few weeks ago I woke up and the bed was soaking wet my body was dripping - I turned to my lovely husband and said I thought I was experiancing a hot flush and was menopausal - He got up and said to me "Oh sorry I best turn the heating off!!" He had put the heating on full blast - sod!

Been through colposcopy - not the most pleasant experience but better that than not going through smear tests I am amazed by some young girls who I work with who have never had a smear cos they feel its embarrassing!!! Oh yeah? And having treatment for cervical cancer isn't - not to mention terrifying. Silly girls.

I have had a full hysterectomy which can lead to an early menopause but nothing as yet, have to say its great not to have periods anymore though.

I would like to know you Ladies thoughts on HRT and do any of you actually use it?
I went through an early menopause alas, and have been using patches since 1993...I know they say there is a link to cancer, but without my HRT I would be quite volatile-something I deplore.

i would not try hrt, although my docs thinks it is a great idea, i told him if he thought it was so good he should take them. the reason is because i was ill on feritity pills and when i tried the birth pill i was ill again, so the pill would not suit me, the doc at the hospital said it was not a good idea for me either. and was horrified when i said my gp thought it was.

as for you, you must make your way mind up, whenever you decide to come off, it is likely you will get some symthons back, talk to your doctor, do your research, weigh up the riskd for you as you know your body and history best

well im not menopausul but i have just come off the injection after 5 years and its playing havoc with my stomach!
its bloated all the time, i get full quicker and sometimes it hurts. I never had any side effects from the injection so im tempted to go back on it after ive had a bleed. I only came off it cos I didnt think it was very good for my body to be on it continually for 5 years.
