Default Price Fixing and Cartels

I see that BA, Virgin, AA and one other airline are to be investigated for 'price fixing'. Two BA Executives have been given 'leave of absence' while the investigation is carried out. This relates to 'price fixing' on Trans-Atlantic flights which only these airlines are free to operate.
Sounds much like the cartel in petrol pricing which, of course, is said to be a figment of our imaginations. Odd though how different three petrol stations in our locality and within a mile of each other raise and lower their prices at the same time on a certain day.

Makes you wonder, Pudden.
I blame some of the big businesses for not keeping an eye on what they are paying for their employee's flights. As ex pats we were entitled to certain flights courtesy of my wife's bank.
When we returned to live in the UK they got us our business class tickets. I looked at how much they cost about 9000 quid.
I'd rather have gone baggage class, and split the difference with them. And they're on about cost savings!!
