Default MP's keep their feet in the trough

Oh what a bunch of reprobates we have in the House of Commons. They seem to think they have "refrained" from taking the p**s out of the electorate by only accepting a 1.9% increase in their already oversize salaries as opposed to the 2.56% which was recommended by the Senior Salaries Review Body. Having done that they then vote to keep the "gravy train", aka the "John Lewis List", which allows them to put £10,000 bathrooms in their second homes at our expense. If anyone thinks that this list is used solely for upgrading a second property they must also believe the moon is made of green cheese. Just listen to this thread and then make your mind up whether our MP's are our "representatives", with our good in mind, or whether they are just a free loading shower of con men, and women.

It's crazy that they are voting on their own reforms.

The gravy train needs to stop.

My own house in the UK in in Brecon, Powys. There we have 3 government representatives - a MP, a MEP and a AM - what did they do for me?

The UK has 1 MP for every 68,000 people - the US 1 for every 680,000 - a slight difference.

My worry is that as more people become more disillusioned with the current shower, the more people will turn to the extremes. As a boy in Coventry my grandfather was Labour through and through and no one ever thought of voting anything else - now I don't know anyone who will vote for them again (and scarily most now support BNP). We now have Nu Labour - Old Conservative; all with the same policies. I do miss the UK as an expat abroad but I am worried that its getting worse by the day.
