Interesting response from the family.
BBC NEWS | UK | 'Maddy sighting' prompts interest
Release another snippet of information hoping to show the Police as incompetent and thereby hoping to reduce the impact of Kate's silence.
If that's the best picture they have of the girl well I'm not surprised the police weren't that interested. It could be anybody. As for the shop keepers comments sounds like attention seeking to me. If I had Maddy would I let her out in public only a month after she was taken? Would let her talk to strangers in shops unsupervised? If I did, would I let her give out her name to the world and its dog? A little unlikely I think.
It has been admitted that
A report was sent to Portugal on 18 June last year but it is not clear from the files what action was taken.
So who is to say that this report was not investigated by the Police?
As for not passing this information on at the time, wasn't it the job of the Police to investigate the crime not some bunch of privateering vigilantes working to a client brief rather than pursuit of justice?
I do wonder where this less than 'Private' investigation and media spin will end up hopefully not in an attempt to pervert the course of justice allegation.
Still quite an effective smokescreen to avoid explaining why Kate wouldn't answer Police questions.
