Apparently traditional light bulbs will disappear by January 2009. It's just a shame that low energy alternatives just don't work. Sadly I don't always have the five minutes neccessary while they 'warm up' and give out a reasonable amount of light. Also they advise against using them on stairs (probably for that reason).

Of course if we convert to the screw fitting type we can still buy them in that Energy wasting Country Sweden.
