Antigua murder: British government faces row over death penalty for honeymoon shooting - Telegraph

This annoyed me. If you go abroad you live by their laws and their rulings. Antigua have the death penalty for murder what right does Britain have to interfere with how it punishes criminals.

How would the British Government react if Thailand tried to interfere in a child pornography case here just because they have different punishments?

I notice the Government doesn't get so steamed up about the Death Sentence in the USA!

This government should keep their nose out of trying to tell Antigua how to run their affairs. It can't even get it right in Britain let alone other countries!

The British Government should keep their collective noses out of the Antigua criminal justice system. They would do well to learn from them and get rid of a lot of the murderers and rapists who are currently "languishing" in jail playing with their Game Boy's and such like. I would bring back hanging for murder tomorrow. Just think, would you rather pay a Hangman £200 to drop some scum bag or pay £5000 a week to keep him in prison?

I'd pay the Hangman if the evidence was 110% conclusive that they were guilty!

Bloomin Heck- I'm being polite- I could not agree more.

Whilst on my holiday I read this article and thought just the same as all you other right thinking folks.

We should learn from our former colonies.

To follow on as to how we could learn from them would require another thread, but they can teach us a thing or three.

The USA has the death penalty in more than one state..I don''t see the UK telling them ANYTHING!!
