If it's OK for a mother to get her bits out to breast feed in public what the hell is wrong with a display of a plastic dummy in big knickers?
Mind you giving a headless plastic torso a name is a bit bonkers too!
Hello Selby this is planet Earth calling!

You shouldn't judge all Yorkshire people by the actions of a few bloody balm pots in Selby. You "talk" to me often enough and I assume you accept me as a reasonable person - well at least most of the time.

This "pregnant" plastic dummy was in a Maternity Wear shop and looked about seven or eight months preggers. The fact that it was white and was wearing a very brief pair of knickers and a bra, both in black, made the "lump" look a bit more obvious than it might have done. The presenters on Look North wanted comments and, in truth, most of the blokes interviewed didn't mind. It was the older women who were complaining - these would have worn Maternity Smocks when they were pregnant which hid the lump a bit. My thoughts were that there was now't wrong with the dummy and, in fact it could have been worse - it could have had a belly piercing in the navel area.
I would think that if this had been in a Maternity Shop in deepest Essex the reactions would have been the same from some of the local community.

You see young mothers-to-be with hipster jeans and a short woollen top wth a large belly piercing sticking out of the navel area looking like a jewel on a cake, or should that be pudding. All this showing obvious pregnancy of varying degrees of advancement. As for navel inserts one of these days someone is going to have one which does this:
