Hi there - are you real or just a figment of my etc.

I might agree if I knew what you were on about.

The Paranormal are not my usual scene, though I do not disbelieve in it.

How about introducing yourself in the World of Today!

We'd love to meet you, I'm sure.

It would be nice if you introduced yourself, and we look forward to it.

Paranormal? I think that as the intellectual part of our brains has developed over the ages humans have surpressed their abilities to 'sense' things the way animals do. For example animals detect earthquakes and tidal waves long before we know they are coming.

Our brains still has the sensory inputs the same as other animals we have just forgotten how to interpret them so our brains tries to rationalize them into the familiar. It trawls through our memories for a 'best fit' interpretation often calling up the people who we trusted most or those who have explained the unknown to us before. Namely parents, partners or close family.

Also at times of great stress or worry our brains call up images of those people who always looked after us and made the stress go away most usually a parent probably our mother i.e the person we would most like to see to help us through.

Predicting the future is simply an exercise in probability. If you see a car accelerating towards the edge of a cliff, while the wheels might come off and stop the vehicle, the balance of probabilities is that it will go ever the edge. It's not ESP, it's observation and applied physics. As you look further into the future more and more factors have a part to play in the outcome. Some people have an instinctive aptitude for this (like Carol Vordermann does for mental arithmetic or I do for spotting prime numbers). We can't explain how we do it because it involves subconscious processes but it's not magic.

It is part of the human condition to explore and as a result we always what there to be more out there to discover. Usually we have the explanation right in front of use but this desire for there to be a complex solution often occludes our thinking

Ghosts usually appear after a good night out when you are just recovering and the DT's set in. Our local is haunted so they tell me. The landlord has a notice outside which says "We don't serve ghosts in here - only spirits!"

My late mother used to vist séances trying to contact my Dad, among other relatives. I never recollect that she had any success, at least not from Father, although she did have one or two near misses with some of the others in her family. I reckon that once someone is dead they should be left in peace. If they want to contact you they will if they are able.
