Aha- we had this once before, with the debate as to whether it's real or not.

I've watched it many times and something is not quite right.

I know it ended up in court where the producer refused to name the driver.

The 'fix' is that the camera is mounted low to the ground which always makes it seem you are travelling closer than you are.

Just resurrecting this thread for the newer members.

I'd also like to add this horny sound.

Sad, aren't I!

I have watched it many times over the years. The film is real, the car never definitively proven as far as most are concerned, Ferrari, Mercedes or otherwise.

The identity of the driver is generally not known.

One thing is certain- it wasn't your tractor belting around!

Hmmm - my hubby loves listening to car engines, has been known to sit in the study, doors closed, listening to a CD of engine sounds.

Don't get it myself.

But C'etait une rendezvous is worth a watch, especially as it has the 'chick flick' ending!

Big hint the engine sound was dubbed post film (as you can tell the car used was only available in a 3 speed automatic version but the sound track has at least 4 upshifts also when he hits the kerb while passing the dustcart in Rue Caulaincourt I think it is).

If you look carefully there is a strategically place people on the corner some of the junctions giving indications that the road is clear.
