I remember seeing that car for the first time on Top Gear & was wowed by it's performance. Not sure anyone could afford the fuel though, or tax for that matter! Still, it's a beautiful looking car

Nope! They are really selective who they let loose in those. I did some work on the traction coupling if memory serves.

Some years ago I was Winter testing when AMG and Swatch had a big publicity day. They where nearly all Germans so they flew up Boris Becker as a 'face'. Being Germans they totally ignored a little Frenchman hanging about the place until they tried to drive on the ice lake. I've never seen such carnage. A Class, M classes and SLKs stuffed in snowbanks everywhere nobody could keep them on the track all except for this little French guy who was throwing a souped up S class around the track at an incredible speed. Only then did somebody ask who that guy was, when told it was Jean Alessi their eyes lit up.
