Those boffs must be itching to fire that collider, must use some energy mind. I saw a tele programme on the building of it and it's just mind boggling. All that work and planning to watch and scrutinize events that last for a fraction of a second, amazing!
It is a thought provoking subject the time travel and i love reading stories on the subject, namely Isaac Asimov

Mind boggling indeed Tele.

Thank God I'm not a Physicist , think I'd probably end up stark raving bonkers. So many questions and no proven answers.

(Shut up sarah, you're rambling girl!) lol

I do remember having a discussion on Time Travel with one of my lecturers. It revolved around why we haven't been visited by people from the future. After many beers we decided that either time travel isn't possible or else we haven't got long enough left as a species to develop the technology. Depressing conclusion I feel

These theory's remind me of 'Life on Mars' and more recently, Ashes to Ashes!
And needless to say, I can't get my head round this one.

always been fascinated by the concept of time travel and still cannot see how it can ever be possible

imagine time as a river constantly flowing from the past to the future-forget the present because it does not exist-now time as a river which has tributaries so, in theory, "John" could be sent back along this tributary but would create another past and therefore another future in another universe-in other words, this person who has gone back has completely obliterated this universe and created another one

just suppose that "John" did travel back in time and died there-does this mean that he did not exist in the present?-but he must have done so to travel back in time-but he died in the past and so therefore he does not exist now-a paradox

the past has already happened be it one second ago or 5 millions years ago and the future is here and will continue to be here-my little human brain cannot comprehend how we can possibly change what has already happened or influence what will be because time is a constant-maybe a million years in the future, if we are still here, a group of scientists may have found a way to travel through time or there may be a race somewhere in our Universe a billion light years away who can already do so and are laughing at our feeble attempts to even work out the basics
