I remember the days of Brian Clough and it saddens me to see them now.

No I didn't unfortunately.
TBH, I live a good hour away from Nottingham and when my boys were younger and living at home, we used to go in the car to the matches.
The youngest lad was a member of the Junior Reds and he was the mascot for the Rumbelows Cup semi final at the city ground, when they played Tottenham.

It was televised and I have pictures of the team and one I particularly like of Stuart Pearce and Gary Liniker with my lad posing for the "toss up"...he still has the 50 pence piece that they used...never would spend it, chose how strapped for cash he was somedays
It was expensive to be a mascot then, god knows how much it costs today.

I don't go to the matches these days, but still support them...my lads would kill me if I said otherwise.
I'll see if I can find the photo's later.

He was a legend Hugs and should have been made manager of the England team, but like you say, he was too controversial in his time, especially when he was younger.

He’d show the pansies playing football today and the managers, a thing or too.
Remember when he signed the first million pound player Trevor Francis and had him sweeping the dressing rooms out to bring him down a “peg or too” after Francis had made the mistake of giving Cloughie some verbal back.
Now they are all over-paid madonna's and if you didn't perform, then Cloughie wouldn't have stood any bull shite from any of them

He'd sort out these overpaid under performing pansies.

The FA were too scared of him.

Exactly right Jezer, they felt threatened by him because I had the feeling that half of them would have lost their jobs, if Cloughie had his way.

When my lad was the mascot, I wanted to take as many photo's as possible...the proud parent and all that.
I stepped onto the field to try and get a photo of the lad and Stuart Pearce talking before the match started....and Cloughie told me to get off the pitch.!
I can't remember the exact words, but it started with "young woman off the field "....no please, would you or could you.....just get off!
