England should have killed the game in the first half. It was like watching the first few rounds of the World Cup all over again. Sadly you can't expect to give away that many penalties and win.

Post match analysis followhs when the GC reporter has shoberd uppp..hic.
Right, feeling better now... As Sooty says, we should have killed the game in the first half. We should also have killed Ian Balshaw. I would never have had him in any team of mine........ever. Wales came back in second half with a vengeance, I'm afraid to say, were the better side and deserved their win. Vainikolo made little impact and Wilkinson was disastrous. The front five were good and would have benefited from Moody's continued presence in the back row. All in all, an appalling performance. 4/10.

I've said this before- I wish all the home nations well in any sporting activity, though am English first.

An anti English feeling is now pervading sport, in that small minded non English Brits delight in our failures, and there are many.

BTW I'm not referring to the well taken gibes by Red Micra and the like.

This was highlighted to my abject horror a year or so ago when England played in the Six Nations at Murrayfield, and the pre match entertainment was a Nationalistic reenactment of Robert Bruce's getting one over on us.

Inappropriate, over the top and pathetic.

As a result of that and other actions in the same vein I now moderate my enthusiasm for our kindred cousins.

And that is a shame.
