No he probably deserved to get 100 caps but I'm afraid his game is now too static. He didn't run with the ball once and there are now other players who can hit pinpoint balls like him.
Barrie or Bentley could replace him. The real problem is Rooney, he lacks the disipline to be a lone striker often drifting back into midfield looking for the ball. This left Gerrard squeezed out from the central midfield role and Cole/Owen (not the tallest target men the game has ever seen) acting as the sole frontman. In defence Brown just didn't look good enough I'm afraid.
