Default Chelsea sack Grant

Chelsea have sacked Avram Grant.
Runners up in the premiership after taking the title race to the last day of the season
and runners up in the champions league after losing an exiting game on penalties.
Most clubs would snatch your hand off for results like that.
Have Chelsea bosses gone mad or is there more to this than meets the eye?

I'm afraid it was always on the cards even if he'd won on Wednesday. There was some talk of finding him a 'junior' position under the new manager (believed to be Frank Rykard, a deal done some months ago) but that was to save money.

If you look how many points Chelsea were behind Man Utd when he took over and how close he came you could argue Jose Mourinho lost Chelsea the league title not Grant and as for the European Cup Had Drogba not been sent off then Terry wouldn't have had to take a penalty so he wouldn't have had the bad luck to slip.

I understand there will be a player clearout too. Drogba has already been told he can leave Wright Phillips too.

As for madness look at Sven at Man City. Such is life when you work of loopy billionaire who think money can buy anything, even luck.
