Not well enough though! She was good so hope for her next year I think, and she's only 19 so plenty of time.

I saw some of it, and there were some amazing shots.

It's great to have it on the telly when I get home.

Going back around thirty years, I used to work at a place in south London that at the time had truly first class tennis courts.

I played on them and could not believe how fast grass was.

Around Wimbledon time-two or three weeks before- some of the top players would come and use the two courts to practice.

I didn't realise what was going on. As a young lad I went out to the courts and saw these players warming up.

Warming up!!!! Flipping heck- it was amazing!

I stood outside the courts unaware of what was going on, and it slowly dawned upon me that I was looking Vijay Amritraj and his brother.

Another day I saw Steve Dent playing with Kevin Curran who got to the final one year.

It was amazing- I was right up against the court with no crowds, and the practice shots they were doing were the ones you would love to be able to do if you were lucky!

Happy Days!

Reminds me of a joke I heard in Germany.

Q: What does the England team manager do after they have won a major sporting event?

A: Switch the wii off and unplug it.

I remember playing tennis at school. We used the courts at the local club, there was always great competition to bag a grass court to play on. (If you played on a hard court you had to roll it after playing) grass was my favourite surface

Djokovic is out. He didn't play well at all - Safin was definitely on form. A shame Djokovic is out as he was a contender (apparently) for the final.
