I hope nothing does, but then againif it doesn't, my being 'holed' up on the farm and not being permitted any visitors, will be for nothing!

Have brought this thread up again, as having read yesterdays Sunday Mirror, have discovered that Hugh wotshisname was found NOT to have followed Defra Guidelines in his quest to get Axminster, Devon the 1st Free Range/Organic town.
Defra were disgusted at his portrayal of the 'Chicken Industry!

I noticed in Fridays 'Jamie's fowl dinners' that the EU plan to up the packing density to 19 chickens per square metre!

My hubby wont do that as he is against the guidelines they plan to introduce, and so for that fact, am I.

I dont think it was DEFRA it was an Assured Foods Standards inspection. The main problem seems to be that because the site was near a derelict area there was a risk of vermin infection.

Assured Foods are part of Defra-only people in the Industry know this-I can see why you didn't think there was Defra involvement!

If you have read it like I have, although they are 'independant', they represent the interests of Defra, among others-Yes it's misleading I agree.
