Default Jamie's Fowl Dinners!

Well, to all of you that watched this programme, I would like to say that the barn that Jamie visited in the West Country, with the chickens being raised for the RSPCA, is what the sheds are like here on our farm....I was totally in tears when I witnessed the killing of those chicks by means of 'gassing', as that is not how our birds are culled and it truly upset me.

I did see that Ollie..... I was very surprised, didn't expect to see chicks being gassed.
Can I ask, how do you do it on your farm then?

I am just curious is all.

As an aside, I haven't eaten meat since I was about 11, nothing to do with animal rights, I just never liked it...

Damn I went out and forgot to record this! Any good (apart from the gassing inaccuracy!).

Again Ollie is it your choice not to gas or does it just not happen that way in the UK?

Why don't you email Channel 4 and complain?

We don't do anything-they come in as 1 day old chicks and go onto the laying farm at 18-19 weeks. If they die, they die naturally.

Thank you for the reply, I hope you know I was not making any assumptions about you, I was just interested to hear another side than presented on the programme, as prior to watching it, I had no knowledge of the poultry industry at all, as I am sure is the same for a lot of people.
