I think it has a lot to do with the Eurovision Bosses telling him that it was his commentaries which was making the contest look a farce. Lets face it it doesn't need Sir Tel for that.

I do have an idea how to stop the political votes though. Since they nearly all sang in English why not perform the songs without stating which country it comes from until after the voting. That would stop the Balkans and Scandinavians voting for each other.

You should see the venom flying on another popular forum. They are starting a petition to the BBC to pull out. Oh well bang goes Radio 3s output then

Being a member of Eurovision means they get a lot of classical concerts beamed to the UK FOC
