Hello everyone!.......I recall the first 45 rpm Single I purchased in 1972 aged 11, it was 'Balls Park Incident' by Wizzard, whose lead singer was Roy Wood, I still have it somewhere,a snazzy lime green label it had by the Record company 'Harvest' I think!
Also around that time I had several of the 'Top of the pops' albums that were covers of recent hits, there was always a picture of an attractive young Lady on the front cover alongside the song titles
I can't quite recall the first CD I purchased, I didn't have a CD player until '94, it was probably one by 'Enigma' as I loved their stuff then, and still do!
Much as I regret the passing of vinyl, I'm very much a lover of the clarity of CD's, another great thing is obsure recordings from many decades ago, unobtainable for ages, have been reissued such as CD's by Contralto Kathleen Ferrier, very early Petula Clark recordings, and many other rarities that I thought would never see the light of day!
