Default What Was The First Movie You Saw...

...at the cinema.

I wonder if you can recall the first films you ever saw at a cinema.

For me it would be films like Peter Pan, Mary Poppins (cost 2d!), Dr No, Born Free- bit later, The Sound of Music at The Majestic in Leeds which seemed so posh to us with all that red velvet, the early Morecombe and Wise films like The Intellegence Men, where mum made us stand for the National Anthem at the end, where everyone else was making a beeline for the exit!

That is the most rambling sentence I've ever written!

Point is, tell us your stories!

I wish I could remember for definite, but one of my earliest memories was going to see Mary Poppins with my aunty. We went shopping first and she bought me some red wellies!

I think it was 'Those magnificent men in their flying machines' and in those days they had 'B' movies too so you got two films for the price of one.

I think the first time I went to the Cinema was to see Watership Down at the fleapit...Oops sorry The Hippodrome in Wrexham (smelt a bit like a hippo too!) And then I used to go every Saturday morning to the Matine'e whilst my Mam was at work just around the corner, blimey can you imagine parents letting their kids of 7 or 8 go to the Cinema on their own these days!
