Did anybody watch War of the worlds
last night ?
I watched it until the tripods started behaving erratically then had to leave the room, by the time I got back it had finished.
What happened ?
did they find the mother?
what caused the tripods to start acting strangely and did this kill them

Yep I watched it.

They started acting oddly as, in a nutshell, they get a virus. Tom Cruise notices that the birds were landing on them so the army realised they could fire their big guns at them. They did find the Mum and the son was already there so a lovely ending!!

There was a voice over at the end explaning that it was micro ogranisms on Earth that the aliens coudln't combat. The human race had earned it's right to live here from thousands of years of humans dying and evolving and becoming immune to things.

My wife's school chum was an Assistant Director on that film. She worked on the scene where Tom Cruise had to take a leak. (oh yes all that Hollywood glamour). Also the scene where father and son got separated
