Vorderman kicked off Countdown

It's not very often I find myself in agreement with the Daily Mirror but I endorse every word of this article

I don't particularly like her that much and no she doesn't deserve that salary but rather like Christiano Ronaldo both sides signed the contract. What is really unfair is that ITV (who make the show for Channel 4) claimed it was because she had demanded a huge pay hike when in fact she was told she would have to take a 90% pay cut.

As for finding a replacement well the only other person I ever knew who could do mental arithmetic like her was my late father. Who unlike me didn't read Maths at University and no I didn't inherit the gene so I can't do it. These people are not that common.

So the first programme to transmitted on Channel 4 seems to have been counted out.

Agreed it is a disgrace whatever she was being paid.

I liked the last paragraph. I can just see Ulrika as co host .. no really I can!

I don't like the way she has been treated either. I have watched the odd Countdown and enjoyed it. It has a friendly atmosphere and does test the brain cells. I can't see it continuing without her.

More dumbing down of television!

I agree she was treated very badly. I think they are wrong and the show won't survive without her.

Wow i'm shocked, what a terrible thing to do, countdown reminds me of dinner time when i was little it was always on in the background as we ate, my dad loved it and still does, as for ulrika, the end of the article got it in one lol.
