Default Lost in Austen.

Did anyone watch this drama last night?
Quite a novel (excuse the pun) take on Austen's Pride and Predudice,it was better than I thought it was going to be and sort of a cross between The Lion,Witch and the Wardrobe and P & P!

I recorded it to watch. I'm relieved to hear that someone has seen it and it is ok! I was unsure about how it would be.

Yes I watched it out of curiosity because P&P is my favourite book.
I will probably watch it again to see where it takes us.

I do wonder that Jane Austen could have been extremely rich if TV had been invented while she was alive...now that TV has exhausted all her novels more or less as written, they are inventing scripts loosely around her books. What will it be next...Sense and Sensibility in a secondary school setting???

It was fun...if something else is on at the same time I may not bother again. I fear that it will run out of novelty value...

Oh dear the BBC really becoming short of ideas. Life on Mars was a brilliant idea and it certainly was popular and profitable for the BBC. Sadly the one dimensional planners want to incorporate the time travel theme into every new programme.

P&P has been done to death (surely there are other period works they could commission? We haven't seen Northanger Abbey or the Mayor of Casterbridge for years or better yet Jude the Obscure but perhaps a little provocative for today's 'classless' society).

As entertainment it was fair I think I'd certainly seen most of the costumes in other series. Probably won't bother with it again
