Default Worst TV Ads of 2008.

I noticed this in the Telegraph just now.

Woods, Federer and Henry couldn't save cringe-worthy Gillette advert - Telegraph

I have to agree with them about so many of the ads, though I don't recognise all of them.

What are your thoughts, including some of the best ones?

I'd like to know of those which are most likely to stop you buying the product.

Good point!

It really was a cringe worthy ad.

I think that as a piece of advertising that mini saga for Chanel with Nicole Kidman is very clever and I love the SpecSaver one where she sets fire to the turkey instead of the pudding.

Mind you, don't you eat the turkey first?

The Iceland one with Jason Donovan really deserves a big Raspberry!

I don't like adverts but I must admit to having a soft spot for the Guinness ones

well consistently in my opinion the worst advert has to be the Churchill adverts with that stupid annoying dog-especially where the Churchill coach drives into some estate and people look out of their windows and run excitedly to talk about insurance with a dog and cheer and clap hysterically

this is the worst one i can think of at the moment

I don't think I have ever been influenced inot buying or not buying anything on the basis of an advert. Which makes them either very clever or pointless.

The adverts I hate are the ones between programmes telling you what is on next. You either know already or have switched over to the watch something else so you never see it. Pointless.

To be honest I don't see the proper ads anymore mainly because the breaks are so long and frequent I now find it perfectly possible to watch two programmes at the same time.

I hate the techno-babble in make up ads though. I have no clue what a pentapeptide is nor do I care. I further suspect that the majority of the audience has similarly no clue. I suggest they made it all up to appear superior.

Hey Sooty- I was saying that to Mrs J at the weekend.

The makeup/shampoo ads where even I ,with part of my degree in Biochemistry, struggles!

Techno-babble sounds about right!
