I wonder what will happen if he finds that 85% of the population have refused to vote. I suspect that there will be a flurry of military activity towards the end of the day when they start rounding up people and forcing them into the polling booths and forcing them to vote for Mugabe - either that or get a severe beating at best and killed at worst. Mugabe just can't allow apathy to spoil the way outside countries see the "election".

I did hear a radio report this morning that middle class voters are being forced to declare themselves illiterate so that they can have somebody else 'help' them fill in their voting forms. Also people who have voted will have their hands marked with indelable ink so it will be easy to spot those people who haven't voted yet.

I also heard that people were being ordered to feign injuries so that they can be accompanied in to the voting booth.

Also what happens afterwards as the MDC have the greater number of seats in parliament - does this give them any kind of power or not?

Has Mugabe taken any notice of what the "Parliament" says in the past? The scumbag is a megalomaniac and takes notice of no-one except probably the Military who keep him in power.

I hadn't seen that page on the BBC site - the mixed reports are interesting. I find some of the things that Justice Minister says quite entertaining really. It's such complete rubbish I just don't understand how he thinks anyone will believe it!
