Default Dam Bursts in Grand Canyon

This item has appeared on the BBC site. It is a good job the dam which has burst isn't the Hoover Dam or Las Vegas would soon find itself without water. I thought when I saw the title that it might have been the Hoover Dam.

Bad for those affected, but as you say Esca, not Hoover.

Above Hoover is this incredible lake, the largest man made one in the US.

We went on Lake Mead when we went to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas a few years ago. It is truly a spectacular place. The "Bath Tub Ring" is quite deep and I wondered at the time how often the depth of the lake increases enough to cover it. The film, which we saw, of how they built the Hoover Dam was quite amazing.
